The McAlester Board of Education works conscientiously to establish policies, procedures and programs that help every student achieve their maximum potential. The board functions as a body to employ the Superintendent who in turn oversees the implementation of said policies and programs.  We also approve all school budgets as part of our responsibility to the community to assure all funds are being used as judiciously and effectively as possible.  The board functions openly, meeting the second Monday of each month, and we encourage parental and community involvement and attendance.  Our ultimate goal is to provide every student a quality education and be a model school district not only in Oklahoma, but one that compares favorably with any district nationwide.
