Students served at KEY Academy are at-risk for high school failure for a variety of reasons which may include academic deficiency, behavioral difficulties, excessive absences, pregnancy or parenting, adjustment problems, or juvenile justice involvement. Alternative Education programs are specifically tailored to meet the needs of students who may be struggling with poverty, substance abuse, family dysfunction, or psychological or physical trauma.

We offer an online curriculum with onsite electives including: Vocals, Health and Wellness, Art. Our smaller setting enables students to limit distractions and will maximize success for at-risk students, Alternative Education programs offer:

  • flexible scheduling;
  • small class sizes, ensuring low student-teacher ratios;
  • innovative instructional techniques;
  • counseling and life skills education;
  • community supports;
  • individualized graduation plans; and
  • connection with traditional school.
