Welcome to Choral Music!

The McAlester Public Schools Choral Music Department is dedicated to providing high quality training for our students by highly qualified directors and clinicians. Our performers focus on vocal technique, performance skills, and life skills through specifically tailored classes.

We believe that by achieving excellence in the performing arts, students can and will strive for excellence in all areas. For this reason, we are committed to making the productions exciting, professional, educational and entertaining.

We strive for excellence in all areas of our performing ensembles and stress the importance of learning and enjoying music as a part of a student's well-rounded education. Choir is a great place to enjoy music, build on your musicianship and have fun with your friends.

The McAlester Public Schools Choirs perform two concerts a year, participate in SE Region All-District Honor Choirs, OkCDA All-State Honor Choirs, OkMEA All-State Honor Choirs, and OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contests. Choirs at McAlester Public Schools perform a variety of repertoire, including classical, Broadway, Spirituals, folk, foreign language, jazz, and pop music. The groups have traveled and performed many places including Chicago, Branson, San Antonio and New York City.
