TSA - Technology Student Association

State and National Success with Technology Student Association

At the 2018 TSA State Contest in Norman, the McAlester High School Technology Student Association (TSA) Chapter placed in several events. The students prepared throughout the year and competed at several Mini conferences before going to state on April 11-13. The students swept the Project Fair competition: 1st place Skylar Moss, 2nd place Mason Wright, and 3rd place Riley Stewart. We were the only team to sweep an event!

  • Sklyar created a native America flute out of Cherry and Walnut.
  • Mason made a bow rack that resembles deer antlers.
  • Riley made a Pepper Mill that looked like a lighthouse

Furthermore, Gaevin Jones and Mason Wright placed 2nd in Video Game design. Colton McEachern and Mason Wright placed 4th in Engineering Design and qualified for Nationals. Gaevin Jones and Colton McEachern placed 7th in Coding. Riley Stewart and Skylar Moss placed 8th in Problem Solving (this is always a large event and to place in the top ten is an accomplishment).

The students carried on their success at Nationals in Atlanta this summer by placing 10th in Problem Solving. The Nationals team consisted of Mason Wright, Colton McEachern, and Gaevin Jones.
