MPS Begins Phase One of Hook Eales Stadium Renovation

McAlester Public Schools is proud to announce the launch of Phase One of the Hook Eales Stadium home side renovation, marking an exciting step forward in enhancing one of the district’s most utilized facilities.
Phase One of the project will begin with the demolition of the existing press box and the installation of a new, modern press box. This upgrade will improve functionality, safety, and the overall experience for events hosted at the stadium.
Phase Two is scheduled to begin in late fall/winter of 2026 after the conclusion of football season, and will focus on the renovation of the home side bleachers, further improving safety and accessibility for spectators.
This project is being funded entirely through McAlester Public Schools’ Building Fund. These funds are legally designated specifically for construction, facility maintenance, and improvements and cannot be used for instructional purposes or direct student expenditures.
Hook Eales Stadium serves as a central hub for a wide range of school and community activities. In addition to McAlester High School Football, the facility is home to the Pride of McAlester Marching Band, both our boys and girls Soccer and Track Teams, FCA Field of Faith gatherings, McAlester Youth League Football games, Special Services events, and many other programs. As one of the district’s highest trafficked venues, these improvements will benefit countless students, families, and community members.
“This renovation represents our commitment to maintaining safe, high quality facilities for our students and community,” said Dr. Robert Steeber. “Hook Eales Stadium is more than a sports venue, it’s a gathering place where memories are made, and we are excited to invest in its future.”
McAlester Public Schools looks forward to sharing progress updates as renovations begin and appreciates the continued support of the community as we move forward.
